What is how to get shorter?

Unfortunately, there's no scientifically proven or healthy way to significantly make yourself shorter as an adult. Once your bones have stopped growing (typically in your late teens or early twenties), your height is essentially fixed.

Here's why and what misconceptions exist:

  • Bone Growth is Finite: The length of your bones determines your height. After puberty, the growth plates in your bones fuse, preventing further lengthening.

  • Postural Changes (Temporary): Poor posture can make you appear shorter. Slouching compresses your spine. Strengthening your core muscles and practicing good posture can temporarily add a tiny bit to your perceived height, but it doesn't change your actual bone length.

  • Spinal Compression (Aging): As we age, the cartilage in our spinal discs can compress, which can lead to a slight decrease in height over many years. This is a natural part of aging, not a method to intentionally become shorter.

  • Misinformation and Unsafe Practices: Be wary of websites or products that claim to shorten you through surgery, stretching, or other methods. These are likely scams or dangerous procedures with serious health risks. There is no ethical or safe surgical procedure to reduce bone length.
